Former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo thinks Conor McGregor has lost his swagger.
That’s why, when McGregor meets Poirier for a third time in the UFC 264 main event at T-Mobile Arena this Saturday, ‘Triple C’ is picking ‘The Diamond’ to KO the Irishman for a second time.
“It’s not going to go good for Conor in my eyes,” Cejudo told retired UFC veteran Mike Swick on a recent episode of Real Quick with Mike Swick (h/t Middle Easy). “I think it’s going to go the same way. Poirier is going to stop him again because he lost his groove. His icebox got wet, like that Chris Brown song. That was a part of the swagger, when you lose that, you can come back to it, but it’s not the same for the other person.”
“It may be the same to you, but it’s not going to be the same for the opponent. I think they’ll fight the third round, but Poirier is going to stop him again. I don’t know how. It might be the kicks again or might be hands.”
Poirier believes he beats McGregor ‘10 out of 10 times’ if the fight goes past the first round. The Louisianan suffered a first-round knockout defeat to McGregor in their first outing at UFC 178 but came back to win the rematch with a knockout victory of his own, finishing ‘The Notorious’ with a flurry of punches against the fence and ground-and-pound in the second round.
UFC 264: Poirier vs. McGregor 3 takes place this Saturday, July 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
