Following his brutal loss to Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night 85 earlier this month in Brisbane, Australia, UFC contender Hector Lombard is moving back up to his original weight class.
Lombard, who has been competing in the UFC’s welterweight division (170 pounds) for his last few fights, claims that due to the inability to use an IV to rehydrate, he will be moving back up to his original weight class of middleweight (185 pounds).
Hector Lombard, who was a former champion at 185 pounds for the Bellator MMA promotion, wrote the following on his official Instagram page regarding his decision to move back up in weight.
“Here, I fixed some things 🙂 I left everything that I had in my last fight. I asked my body to perform, but I got no reply. When your body says no and stops functioning there is nothing you can do about it.
I’m very happy to be back fighting at my original weight 185. Now with no IV allowed, I will be able to fight in a healthier weight for me.
