“But until then Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar I want you do me a favor and bend the knee to ‘Triple-C’ too.”
It didn’t take long for Henry Cejudo to react to the news of Frankie Edgar’s imminent move to bantamweight, as ‘The Messenger’ wasted no time in calling out the former UFC lightweight champion on social media, hilariously instructing Edgar to ‘bend the knee to the Triple C’.

“Frankie, you’re 0-5 in your last title fights,” Cejudo said in his public service announcement (h/t Jose Youngs of MMA Fighting). “What makes you think you coming down to my weight class will be any different. Do me a favor, when you wanted [UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden] then I want you to call me out. One, because I know you’re gold thirsty and you want mine. Two, I just know you just don’t like me. But until then Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar I want you do me a favor and bend the knee to ‘Triple-C’ too.”
Cejudo, the reigning UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion, has called out just about everyone since capturing the bantamweight title at UFC 238. The Olympic gold medallist has even issued a challenge to women’s two-division champ Amanda Nunes, warning the Brazilian that he ‘takes no prisoners’ as the men’s flyweight and bantamweight king.
Edgar, 37, announced his move to bantamweight after suffering a title loss to reigning featherweight king Max Holloway at UFC 240. As Cejudo pointed out in his ‘public service announcement’, ‘The Answer’ is 0-5 in his last five title fights but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the UFC fast track Edgar into to yet another title bout. Expect the MMA veteran to issue a reply to Cejudo over the weekend.
