Another weekend of fisticuffs has come and gone as UFC Fight Night 133 blew the roof off CenturyLink Arena last Saturday night (July 14, 2018) in Boise, Idaho.

Plnety of fighters were left licking their wounds, including Blagoy Ivanov, who got a rude welcome to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon courtesy of ex-Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos, who handed “Blaga” his first loss in three years in what was his promotional debut.

And Zak Ottow, who was stopped by Sage Northcutt in round number two after almost finishing him in the opening frame (full video highlights here). But which fighter is suffering from the worst post-fight hangover, now 48 hours removed from he show?

Dennis Bermudez.

Going into his fight against Rick Glenn, “The Menace” was looking to stop the bleeding from a three-fight losing streak spanning a year and a half. Unfortunately for Dennis, things got worse in a hurry.

After three rounds of back-and-forth action, his fate once against was in the hands of the judges, as was the case in his previous two fights. And just like his previous two defeats, Bermudez found himself coming up short via split decision. A tough pill to swallow for the feisty featherweight, especially since many scored the bout in his favor.

Afterward, Bermudez took to social media to vent his frustrations.

Who ever judged my fight tonight, you could at least buy me a couple of drinks before you fuck me like that …. #UFCFightNight133

As a result of his latest setback, Dennis finds himself the not-so-proud owner of a four-fight skid. Of course, any of his previous three could have gone his way, which makes the defeats harder to accept. Nevertheless, these losses are part of the sport, as is questionable judging, unfortunately.

Where he goes from here is tough to call, as the Featherweight division is stacked with one contender after another. And his climb into the top 15 just got a whole lot tougher on the heels of his latest setback.

Controversial or not.

I really don’t see the promotion cutting ties with the scrappy 145-pounder, so a fight against Gavin Tucker seems legit. If you are not too sure who that is, he’s the the man Glenn defeated in September of 2017 prior to topping Bermudez. And it was a hellacious beating, as Glenn took it to Tucker for three rounds, resulting in multiple broken facial bones.

While no clear timetable for his return is known, by the time Dennis gets set to come back, Tucker would’ve been out for over a year, which means his wounds could be fully healed to mount a comeback.

It’s really one of the only few fights that makes sense for either men at the moment, unless you have a better idea?
