Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, is not just content with taking his opponents to the floor and grinding them into dust. He must also narrate his mixed martial arts (MMA) beatdown while it’s taking place.
With the occasional heckling of promotion president Dana White.
That’s why mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are clamoring to know what “The Eagle” plans to say if and when he’s able to ground Conor McGregor in their upcoming lightweight title fight following months of back-and-forth trash talk.
“This gonna be long night for him,” Nurmagomedov told ESPN. “I’m gonna make him tired, I’m gonna maul him inside the cage. I’m gonna ask him, ‘Hey, where’s your bus? Where’s your other guys? What happened now? Where’s everything?’ Sometimes you never know what you wanna say. Little bit talk with Dana, with him … crush his hype.”
McGregor was recently sentenced for attacking a UFC bus back in April.
McGregor, who returns in the UFC 229 headliner this Sat. night (Oct. 6, 2018) in Las Vegas, Nevada, will be making his first Octagon appearance since stopping Eddie Alvarez at the UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) event back in late 2016.
As for Nurmagomedov, this marks his third fight since “Notorious” went AWOL and with a 26-0 record, he opened as the betting favorite for their 155-pound title fight. Whether or not that changes after the late money comes in remains to be seen, but it would certainly give “The Eagle” one more thing to talk about.
