Julio Arce made a big splash in his return to bantamweight earlier tonight (Sat., July 24, 2021) at UFC Vegas 32 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the former Ring of Combat champion finished veteran Andre Ewell via second-round TKO (punches).
Both men started to land early but it was Arce who displayed better shot selection. This allowed the former featherweight to find a home for some heavy punches and put Ewell on notice. Ewell tried to regain control in the second round with offense from the outside but Arce closed the distance again and clobbered him with heavy combinations along the cage. Ewell survived momentarily before the referee stepped in for the stoppage.

This was Arce’s first Octagon appearance since suffering a split-decision loss to Hakeem Dawodu back in Nov. 2019 and boy did he make the most of it. Arce has always possessed top 15 talent so it will be interesting to see what he can do in a crowded bantamweight division so long as he stays healthy.
