The legend of Khamzat Chimaev grew a little larger earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 19, 2020) at UFC Vegas 11 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the undefeated sensation collapsed veteran middleweight Gerald Meerschaert with a 17-second knockout (punch)
While Chimaev was the heavy favorite to impose his will and wilt “GM3” on the ground nobody thought the rising prospect would end Meerschaert with one single punch. It just goes to show the wrinkles in Chimaev’s game that fans haven’t had the time to see. That’s because “Borz” continues to dominate all opponents from the opening bell.

With this performance, Chimaev wins his third UFC fight in just two months, having captured his first two within 10 days on “Fight Island” back in July. This knockout finish was scary considering Chimaev is known for his ground-and-pound skills, but it makes his potential even more intriguing moving forward, especially if he continues to float between welterweight and middleweight.
Let’s hope Demian Maia brings the goods when he meets Chimaev next month in Abu Dhabi.
