Surging welterweight prospect Khamzat Chimaev scored his second UFC win in the past 10 days earlier tonight (Sat., July 25, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 14 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, when he obliterated touted prospect Rhys McKee via first-round TKO (punches).
It didn’t take long for Chimaev to slide inside and take McKee down. Despite McKee’s size and dexterity off his back Chimaev easily postured up and slammed countless punches from top control. McKee tried to defend but Chimaev’s pressure was something else. It was only a matter of time before the referee stepped in to stop the massacre, which concluded with Chimaev out-striking McKee 40-0.

With this performance, Chimaev proves yet again that he needs to fight someone of real caliber inside of the Octagon. The 26-year-old prospect has looked like a world beater throughout his first two UFC appearances and may be one win away from a shot at the top 15. That is how good Chimaev has been, and presumably can be.
