Kevin Croom made the most out of his UFC debut earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 12, 2020) at UFC Vegas 10 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the veteran fighter finished heavy favorite, Roosevelt Roberts, with a 31-second submission (guillotine choke).
Croom was filling in for Matt Frevola on just a days notice but you wouldn’t have known it. “The Hard-Hitting Hillbilly” immediately lived up to his nickname by connecting with a perfect left-hand counter that planted Roberts on the canvas. Croom rushed in and quickly locked up the choke. Roberts fought the hands for a moment before he was forced to tap.

With this performance, Croom not only scores a huge upset in his first Octagon appearance but he also records the fastest debut finish in UFC lightweight history. That’s pretty impressive, especially considering “Hard-Hitting Hillbilly” was a big underdog coming into this short-notice fight.
