There was no miraculous upset or unprecedented come-from-behind victory last night (Sat., Mar. 3, 2018) at UFC 222 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg defended her title against Invicta FC bantamweight champion Yana Kunitskaya. It was just another dominant performance by the champion, who finished “Foxy” via first-round TKO.
Kunitskaya was able to score an early takedown after Cyborg landed a big right hand, but wasn’t able to keep the pressure up for much longer. Cyborg got back to her feet and started to land devastating right hands that crumbled Kunitskaya to the canvas. The Brazilian knockout artist moved in quickly to land vicious ground-and-pound before the referee jumped in for the stoppage.

With this performance, Cyborg extends her unbeaten streak and proves yet again that the promotion really needs to get her a legit featherweight fighter next time around. But considering rumors are already beginning to swirl of a potential superfight with UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, the Cyborg vs. Bantamweight project is likely to continue.
