The heavyweight debut of Yorgan De Castro produced devastating results last night (Sat., Oct. 5, 2019) at UFC 243 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, as De Castro absolutely leveled fellow Octagon newcomer Justin Tafa via first-round knockout (punch).
Both men fired shots to start off the PPV opener before Tafa tied the action up along the cage. After a minute of jockeying the action separated and the two heavyweights started to throw leather once again. After landing a good uppercut inside Tafa began to rush De Castro. That’s when De Castro countered with a powerful right hand that instantly put Tafa out for the count.

With this performance, De Castro makes a statement in his heavyweight debut and has now won five of six professional wins by way of knockout or TKO. The 32-year-old prospect definitely has the power to hang with the heavyweight division, but he’ll have to prove himself further against stiffer competition.
