Khama Worthy continued his unprecedented Octagon success earlier tonight (Sat., June 27, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 12 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he finished touted lightweight prospect Luis Pena via third-round submission (modified guillotine).
Worthy came out strong in this fight and landed strikes to Pena’s head, body, and legs. Pena seemed to struggle to outwork Worthy in the first so he decided to score a few takedowns in the second to take the momentum back. The third round saw “Deathstar” get back to business on the feet before scoring some great elbows from top control after the action hit the canvas. As Pena tried to return to his feet and secure a takedown Worthy was there to sink in the tight choke and force the tap.

With this performance, Worthy scores his second-straight finish in as many UFC appearances and proves that he deserves to compete within the most stacked division in the sport. Pena had never been finished before this and was arguably winning on the scorecards so Worthy pulled out the submission in the nick of time.
