Mackenzie Dern raised her UFC stock earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 19, 2020) at UFC Vegas 11 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the BJJ ace finished veteran Randa Markos via first-round submission (armbar).
After a brief feeling out period Dern was able to grab a hold of Markos along the cage and the two strawweights made their way to the mat. That is where Dern shines and she wasted little time taking control. Markos put up a good fight, but Dern’s transitions, timing, and strength were sensational. It allowed to her to find the armbar finish and capture one of the nicest submission finishes of the year.

With this performance, Dern locks down her second-straight win after submitting Hannah Cifers via kneebar back in May. The 27-year-old contender has never looked better since returning from giving birth and seems ready to push towards a title shot entering 2021.
