T.J. Dillashaw made it happen again this past weekend (Sat., Aug. 4, 2018) at UFC 227 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., finishing nemesis Cody Garbrandt via first-round knockout.
Dillashaw had to endure a few scares in the early going before pulling the trigger on the same right hook that knocked “No Love” silly back at UFC 217. Garbrandt once again couldn’t withstand the power of the UFC bantamweight champion and eventually was knocked out late in the first round.

With this performance, Dillashaw walks away with the 135-pound title still wrapped around his waist. The argument can be made that Dillashaw is the best bantamweight to ever do it, but Dominick Cruz may have something to say about that.
Cruz makes a likely contender for Dillashaw’s next title defense, but Demetrious Johnson, who lost his flyweight title to Henry Cejudo at UFC 227, could be in line for a bantamweight title bid if he decides to move up.
