Light heavyweight prospect Roman Dolidze delivered the goods earlier tonight (Sat., July 18, 2020) at UFC Fight Island 2 live on ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, when the undefeated Georgian finished former M-1 Challenge champion Khadis Ibragimov via first-round TKO (knee and punches).
The two light heavyweights came out of the gate cool, calm, and collected, but fight fans could tell Dolidze packed serious power in his strikes. During an exchange in the middle of the Octagon half way through the first Dolidze was able to land a crushing knee that connected to Ibragimov’s jaw. Ibragimov fell to the canvas confused as Dolidze followed suit with powerful ground-and-pound before the referee stepped in for the timely stoppage.

With this performance, Dolidze capitalizes on a huge opportunity to prove he’s one of the most dangerous 205-pound prospects in the sport today. The 32-year-old knockout artist looks to have a bright future under the demanding lights of the Octagon, but he’ll have to show a little more as he climbs the division ladder heading into 2021.
