Former UFC welterweight veteran Erick Silva made good on his Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) debut last night (Fri., July 20, 2018) at LFA 45 from Cabazon, California, when he pulled off a come-from-behind submission finish over Nick Barnes in the main event.
Barnes did some serious damage in the early going after dropping Silva with a nasty short left hook. Silva regrouped off his back as Barnes tried to size him up for a finish. Silva was eventually able to grab a hold of Barnes’ left arm and work in a tight armbar attempt. A few seconds later and Barnes was tapping to get free.

With this performance, Silva locks down his first victory since a submission win over Luan Chagas back in 2016. The 34-year-old remains a shell of his former UFC self, but as long as LFA is willing to give Silva the keys to the driver’s seat he’ll be afforded the opportunity to shine like he did last night.
