Jorge Masvidal made the biggest statement he could have possibly made earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 16, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 5 live on ESPN+ from inside O2 Arena in London, England, when he stunned Darren Till via second-round knockout in their welterweight main event.
While Till leveled “Gamebred” in the early going and pulled ahead on the scorecards entering the second round, Masvidal finally started to move in and time his shots. During an exchange in the middle of the Octagon, Masvidal quickly switched angles and threw a nasty left hook that clipped “Gorilla” directly on the chin and sent him falling to the canvas. Masvidal did land another left on the way down and few short punches on the ground but the fight was already over.

With this performance, Masvidal jumps back into the welterweight win column in dramatic fashion after losing his last two outings to Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia. This knockout finish is going to go a long way in setting “Gamebred” up for big fights in 2019, which may very well start with Ben Askren sometime this spring/summer.
What a performance for a guy who hasn’t fought in 16 months.
