Chase Hooper put the lightweight division on notice earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 7, 2024) at UFC 310 LIVE on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping veteran Clay Guida to earn a first-round submission (armbar) and push his current win streak to four.
Hooper came into this “Prelims” fight the biggest betting favorite on the card at -1200, but Guida never fails to provide some fireworks even as a huge underdog. Unfortunately, Guida’s magic quickly ran out on Saturday night as Hooper’s grappling took the fight over in the early going. Guida showed off some exciting transitions to try to roll and wiggle free, but Hooper stayed right on him.
Eventually, Hooper was able to catch one of Guida’s arms and threatened with a finish. Guida, who is no stranger to being submitted inside of the Octagon, tried to fight his way through it. Hooper was too slick, though, as he turned Guida over and cranked to force the tap. Guida walked off holding his arm.

Hooper, 25, is now 7-3 as a member of the UFC roster. The former Contender Series winner has come a long way and finally looks to be finding his groove inside of the Octagon. It doesn’t hurt that Hooper is growing into his body, showcasing better striking, and slicing through some tough competition at 155 pounds.
