Nassourdine Imavov put the middleweight division on notice earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 6, 2021) at UFC 268 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, when the 25-year-old prospect ended ranked contender Edmen Shahbazyan via second-round TKO (elbows).
The early going of this fight was a back-and-forth affair. Shahbazyan did his bidding with whipping leg kicks and good punches from range. Imavov was able to close the distance and lock the young middleweight up in a few tight chokes. Shahbazyan was able to defend nicely but ended up on his back during a final transition to the canvas. That’s when Imavov was able to position himself for the mounted crucifix and launch gnarly elbows for the bloody finish.
