Surging middleweight contender Jared Cannonier spoiled Jack Hermansson’s bid for five-straight wins earlier today (Sat., Sept. 28, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 160 live on ESPN+ from inside Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, when he put a brutal stop to “Joker” via second-round TKO (punches).
Hermansson pushed the pace early and forced Cannonier to scramble and defend multiple takedowns, but it was Cannonier who scored the more meaningful shots with short punches and hard leg kicks on the feet when the action separated.
Cannonier kept the momentum going in the second round after landing a short right-handed uppercut that sent Hermansson to the ground. “Joker” covered up and Cannonier piled on heavy ground-and-pound until the referee stepped in.

With this performance, Cannonier extends his UFC middleweight record to 3-0 and locks down arguably the biggest victory of his professional career. “Killa Gorilla” has looked downright deadly since cutting down to 185 pounds — finishing all three of his middleweight appearances via TKO — and is now on the short list of rising title contenders entering 2020.
