Anthony Smith returned to the light heavyweight win column last night (Sat., Nov. 28, 2020) at UFC Vegas 15 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the former UFC title challenger finished Devin Clark via first-round submission (triangle choke).
Clark was the underdog coming into this fight but still managed to gain control early and take Smith to the ground. Smith is the longer fighter and a true veteran off his back, which allowed him to find a small window to apply the triangle choke. Clark is a strong fighter and defended best he could, but “Lionheart” wouldn’t be denied.

With this performance, Smith rebounds after dropping consecutive fights to Glover Teixeira and Aleksandar Rakic. “Lionheart” is still an intricate part of the 205-pound title picture so it’s nice to see him right the ship entering the new year.
