Conor McGregor’s teammate, Kiefer Crosbie, lost his second-straight UFC fight earlier tonight (Sat., July 27, 2024) at UFC 304 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Co-op Live in Manchester, England, getting stopped by welterweight prospect Sam Patterson via first-round submission (arm-triangle choke).

Crosbie fell flat in his Octagon debut, but that was on very short notice. He had a chance to put in a full camp this time around and prove he should stick around in a crowded 170-pound division, but Patterson had other plans. The former lightweight looked great in his move to welterweight his last time out and he kept that momentum going in front of his home crowd.

Patterson utilized his long reach and distance control early to land powerful strikes and put Crosbie on notice. “The Future” then switched up his attack and dragged Crosbie to the canvas with a slick takedown along the cage. Patterson ended up in top control and quickly worked his way towards an arm-triangle choke. He moved into side control and Crosbie was forced to tap.

Check out the submission finish below:

Patterson, 28, is now 2-1 since making his UFC debut just 16 months ago. The towering English prospect is looking better and better at welterweight and could be a dark horse to challenge the top 15 sometime next year. It will be interesting to see who UFC matches “Future” up with next and if they decide to have him fight in the U.S.
