Esteban Ribovics turned in one of the best knockout finishes of the year earlier today (Sat., May 11, 2024) at UFC St. Louis live on ESPN from inside Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, stopping fellow lightweight Terrance McKinney with a ridiculous head kick just 37 seconds into the first round.

This “Prelims” matchup was one being checked off by fight fans everywhere. McKinney is an absolute fireplug and has only finished or been finished in every single one of his pro fights. Ribovics, despite this being just his third UFC appearance, has already shown the knack for producing Fight of the Night offense.

It only took half a minute for this fight to play out and it was awesome. McKinney came into this fight as a betting underdog, but he fired off a crisp jab early that caught the attention of “T.Wrecks.” Moments later, the two lightweights started throwing hard punches in the pocket. Ribovics, however, ended his sequence with a high right head kick that didn’t miss. It hit McKinney directly in the face and produced a crack heard around the arena.

McKinney, who had been knocked out three times entering tonight, instantly went limp and fell backwards into the cage. Ribovics didn’t follow up with any punches as the damage was already done. McKinney was out cold and left smiling despite being unconscious. It was pretty gnarly.
