Jim Miller captured his record 26th win inside of the Octagon earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 13, 2024) at UFC Vegas 84 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the lightweight veteran stopped Gabriel Benitez via third-round submission (neck crank) in the co-main event.

Miller has looked good over the past few years despite fighting into his 40s. He’s been trying to last until UFC 300 later this year, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been killing it inside of the cage. Miller was coming off a 23-second knockout finish over Jesse Butler his last time out so there was some momentum to gain against Benitez.

Both lightweights came to fight, but it was Miller who had the better moments in the fight and more control time. Benitez was able to land some crisp shots on the feet to bloody Miller up a bit. Miller, who can finish a fight at any point, leaned on his wrestling in the third round and eventually took Benitez’s back. That was all Miller needed to secure the submission finish and set more UFC records.

In the end, it was another memorable outing for the 40-year-old veteran and a great way to set him up for a UFC 300 appearance. He even called out Brock Lesnar during his post-fight interview. Check out Miller’s final efforts from Saturday night below:
