After a record-tying nine straight decisions to start UFC Fight Night 170 earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 14, 2020) live on ESPN+ from inside Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil, Renato Moicano finally gave fight fans their first finish when he stopped lightweight Damir Hadzovic via rear-naked choke just 44 seconds into the first round.

It didn’t take Moicano long to move inside and take Hadzovic down to the ground. From there, the Brazilian worked for back control and quickly sunk in a tight rear-naked choke. Hadzovic fought the hands briefly before tapping.

With this performance, Moicano gets back into the UFC win column after dropping back-to-back knockout losses to Jose Aldo and Chan Sung Jung and also makes good on his 155-pound debut. The former featherweight contender called out lightweight veteran Paul Felder after his quick UFC Brasilia finish so we’ll see if the promotion grants him the fight.
