Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz did what he was supposed to do last night (Sat., Dec. 7, 2019) at Combate Americas live on FITE.TV from inside Payne Arena in McAllen, Texas, when “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” steamrolled former WWE champion Alberto El Patron via first-round submission (rear-naked choke).
El Patron came out and tried to throw Ortiz to the ground, but the former UFC and Bellator MMA standout reversed roles and controlled Alberto. The former WWE champion would get back to his feet only to be met with a barrage of Ortiz punches before “Huntington Beach Bad Bay” scored another takedown. From there, Ortiz would work his way into position to take El Patron’s back and sink in the rear-naked choke finish, which was applied for a few seconds too long.

While Ortiz is a 44-year-old fighter well past his prime he’s still one of the most experienced athletes in the sport today. The MMA legend was never really in danger of losing this fight and proved that he still has some magic left entering his revival with Combate Americas.
