Mick Parkin injected life into the Manchester crowd earlier tonight (Sat., July 27, 2024) at UFC 304 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Co-op Live in Manchester, England, as the undefeated heavyweight prospect stopped Lukasz Brzeski with a brutal first-round knockout (punches).
This event started late local time so it was about midnight by the time Parkin made his walk to the cage. The English prospect is a main training partner of Tom Aspinall is trying to pave his own legacy as a member of the UFC’s heavyweight division. Luckily, the late start time didn’t affect Parkin in the slightest way.
Parkin, who has delivered three-straight decision wins to start his UFC career, has proved to be a slow starter. He found his range with crisp jabs and hooks while mixing in some leg kicks to keep Brzeski honest. Brzeski did land some good counters and looping punches along the way, but the first half of the opening round was all Parkin.
Out of nowhere, Parkin connected on a huge right hand counter. Brzeski stumbled and Parkin moved in for a large and powerful collection of lefts and rights. He eventually crumbled Brzeski along the cage and forced the referee’s hand. It was a great performance that now leaves Parkin on the doorstep of the top 15.
