Alex Pereira displayed his world-class striking in his anticipated Octagon debut earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 6, 2021) at UFC 268 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, when the former GLORY middleweight and light heavyweight champion stopped Andreas Michailidis via second-round TKO (flying knee and punches).
Pereira had to show a little more than just his striking in early going as Michailidis pinned him up against the cage and tried to take him down. “Poatan” didn’t easily keep Michailidis off of him, but he did good enough to limit any damage. At the start of Round 2 Pereira launched a devastating flying knee that caught Michailidis flush on the chin. Michailidis fell to the canvas and Pereira followed for a few extra shots before the official stoppage.
