Alejandro Perez returned to the Octagon for the first time in over two years and captured a big win earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 2, 2021) at UFC Vegas 38 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as “Turbo” ended fellow bantamweight veteran Johnny Eduardo via second-round submission (straight armbar).
Both fighters haven’t completed in a long time so the first round was a good feeling out period. In Round 2, Perez was able to gain the upper hand on the ground and ended up in side control. From there, Perez smartly grabbed a hold of Eduardo’s arm, stuck it between his legs, and applied pressure until Eduardo was forced to tap.

Perez, 32, enters the UFC win column for the first time since a unanimous decision over Eddie Wineland back in 2018. It’s unknown at this time where UFC will slot Perez back into the bantamweight pecking order after this performance, but the Mexican fighter remains 8-3-1 as a member of the UFC roster. That’s not too shabby.
