Patricio Freire and Emmanuel Sanchez ran it back one more time at Bellator 255 earlier tonight (Fri. April 2) a year and a half removed from their memorable matchup at Bellator 209 which saw “Pitbull” defeat Sanchez via unanimous decision.

This time around, the fight didn’t make it past the first round.

After a cautious start from Freire, he eventually clipped Sanchez with a left hook that dropped him. He immediately sunk in a guillotine choke. A few seconds later, “Pitbull” was informing the referee that Sanchez was asleep. And he was right because Sanchez was out cold.

“Pitbull” has now won six straight and not only does he retain his Featherweight title, but he moves on to the finals of the Grand Prix against undefeated (17-0) A.J. McKee later this year. The winner of the bout not only becomes (or remains) Featherweight champ, but gets a Grand Prix belt and goes home with a $1 million prize!

The two came face-to-face inside the cage after “Pitbull’s” win and exchanged some heated words.
