Marc-Andre Barriault found his first official Octagon win earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 27, 2021) at UFC 260 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nev., when the Canadian veteran stopped a returning Abu Azaitar via third-round TKO (punches).
Azaitar was coming off a lengthy layoff but you wouldn’t have known. The bruising middleweight pushed forward and unloaded almost everything he had in the tank over the first five minutes. In Round 2, Azaitair began to fade and it allowed Barriault to take control. “Power Bar” started to land combinations at will and eventually took the fight to the canvas in the final frame where he found a home for the late stoppage.

This wasn’t the prettiest performance by Barriault but he still powered through Azaitair to find a way to a finish. The 31-year-old Canadian fighter will hope to finally string some wins together inside of the Octagon and prove why he was a touted prospect when he debuted two years ago.
