Zachary Reese redeemed a UFC debut gone wrong earlier tonight (Sat., June 8, 2024) at UFC Louisville live on ESPN+ from inside KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, when the middleweight prospect stopped Julian Marquez with a devasting 20-second TKO (punches).

Reese is an up-and-coming talent at 185 pounds and has finished every one of his pro wins, but “Savage” came up considerably short in his Octagon debut by losing to Cody Brundage via knockout slam last December. This was a chance for Reese to redeem his failed debut and live up to his billing.

Fortunately for the 30-year-old, things went exactly as planned. After a very brief feeling out period Reese landed a nice body kick that forced Marquez to cover up. That’s when Reese launched a perfectly-placed uppercut that slammed into “The Cuban Missile Crisis” and sent him crashing to the canvas. Reese piled on a few more punches before the referee peeled him off.

Reese’s performance lasted just 20 seconds, but it was exactly what he needed to start a run in the UFC’s middleweight division.
