Rising women’s flyweight contender Gillian Robertson ignited the Canadian crowd earlier tonight (Sat., July 27, 2019) at UFC 240 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, when she put a brutal stop to Brazilian striker Sarah Frota via second-round TKO (punches).
It was all Robertson from the opening bell as she dictated the pace of the fight and where it took place. It wasn’t until the second round, though, that she gained prime positioning on the ground to launch heavy ground-and-pound. Frota tried to defend but the excitement of the Canadian crowd fueled Robertson to continue her onslaught until the referee stepped in.

With this performance, Robertson locks down her fourth finish in as many UFC victories and her first knockout defeat of her short professional career. The 24-year-old is quickly starting to shows signs of becoming a top contender in 2020 and fellow flyweight females should start to take notice. After all, Robertson has already emerged as one of the best finishers in the division.
