Bruno Silva delivered a big comeback victory earlier tonight (Sat., July 20, 2024) at UFC Vegas 94 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping ranked flyweight Cody Durden with a massive second-round TKO (punches and elbows).
The odds were close entering this one, but Durden was the one who jumped out in the early going with better offense and a more well-rounded attack. Silva hasn’t competed since a submission finish over Tyson Name back in March 2023 so cage rust started to creep in. Silva seemed slow to initiate and it allowed Durden to lead the way.
Durden was in control early into the second with a nice takedown and top control. However, Silva dug deep to get back to his feet and that’s when he landed a brutal uppercut that sent Durden’s mouthpiece flying into the fence. Durden was badly hurt as Silva rushed in for heavy ground-and-pound. Durden eventually went out as the referee stepped in. He was busted up pretty badly.

Silva, who hails from Henry Cejudo’s Fight Ready team, has now won his last four trips to the Octagon. They’ve all been finishes. “Bulldog” should be looking at a potential ranking come next week as he creeps into the top 15, where he’s an interesting matchup for almost anyone.
