Gavin Tucker returned from a one-year hiatus to secure the biggest win of his MMA career earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 8, 2020) at UFC Vegas 6 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the Canadian prospect finished hard-hitting featherweight Justin Jaynes via third-round submission (rear-naked choke).
Jaynes was able to score a knockdown in the first round and nearly finish Tucker with a tight guillotine choke, but Tucker was able to recover and completely dominate. Tucker was able to mix up his offense nicely as he picked Jaynes apart with short punches, combinations, leg kicks, front kicks to the body, and hooks when he let the power go. Tucker’s output eventually allowed him to put Jaynes on the mat in Round 3 and work his way towards the submission win.

With this performance, Tucker locks down his second-straight submission win after choking out Seung Woo Choi back in July of 2019. “The Newfoundland Terror” has struggled to remain healthy since making his Octagon debut in 2017, but when Tucker is operating at full capacity he’s one of the most promising names outside of the featherweight top 15.
