Check out video highlights of Tyson Fury vs. Otto Wallin here, including footage of a bad cut suffered by Fury
Tonight’s Top Rank on ESPN card was headlined by an unofficial title fight, as lineal Heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury took on the challenge of Otto Wallin. In the end Fury remains undefeated, taking home a unanimous decision win, but he certainly had to work for it.
The story of the fight was a serious cut suffered by Fury early in the fight. In the 3rd round, Wallin landed a clean punch above the right eye that sliced Fury open with a serious gash. Initially, it was ruled as the result of a headbutt, by the commission took a look and determined it was indeed from a clean punch, meaning a cut stoppage would be a TKO win for the challenger. Fury was clearly bothered by it, but managed to come back and dominate the back half of the fight. In round 12, Wallin again came on strong and hurt Fury, sending the champ retreating in the final three minutes.
Take a look here at the punch that opened up the cut:

With the win, Fury expands his record to 29-0-1. In certainly seems his next fight will be the much anticipated rematch with Deontay Wilder, provided Wilder first wins his own November rematch with Luis Ortiz. Fury called out the Bronze Bomber in his post-fight interview, so let’s hope all lines up there.
Wallin suffers the first loss of his pro career here, dropping to 20-1. But he also put his name on the international stage here, outperforming expectations, hurting Fury, and making this into much more of a fight that anyone anticipated. He lost, but his stock rises tonight.
