Rani Yahya scored another submission finish earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 13, 2021) at UFC Vegas 21 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. when the Brazilian veteran stopped journeyman Ray Rodriguez via arm-triangle choke in the second round.
Yahya didn’t play around as usual and immediately shot inside to take Rodriguez down. The submission specialist didn’t seem to look for a stoppage in the first round, but he still maintained control and sapped Rodriguez’s energy. In Round 2, Yahya dragged Rodriguez to the canvas again and this time was able to work his way into position to lock in the choke.

This performance gives Yahya his 21st submission finish through 27 professional wins. It also gives Yahya the most finishes in UFC/WEC bantamweight history (9). Not too shabby for a 36-year-old veteran still looking for his first UFC title shot.
