Jamahal Hill was hoping to make a quick turnaround after his knockout loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 300 this past April, but a knee injury has booted “Sweet Dreams” from his scheduled matchup against Carlos Ulberg at UFC 303 later this month.
While much of this week’s drama revolved around Conor McGregor’s injury and what impact that might have on UFC 303’s main event, Hill also threw the promotion for a loop by bowing out of his clash with Ulberg. Their 205-pound bout was expected to serve as the PPV co-main event and provide Hill the opportunity to get back on track after suffering a brutal loss to “Poatan.”
Unfortunately, Hill was forced out of his UFC 303 fight as well after suffering an injury to his knee. Remember, Hill was sidelined almost a year prior to UFC 300 due to a ruptured Achilles. “Sweet Dreams” will be replaced by fellow light heavyweight veteran, Anthony Smith, who will now meet Ulberg in just two weeks.
Late Friday night, Hill took to Instagram to explain his current injury and promise fight fans he’ll be back better than ever. It’s unknown at this time how long Hill will be sidelined for, but it would be surprising to see him return before the end of the year.

“2 tears in my meniscus, sprained my ACL a Baker Cyst that leaked fluid in the back of my knee and a infusion in some joints!!! There were actually 3 of these. This is only making me hungrier. Be back soon!!!”
