UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway has opened as a considerable favorite over Frankie Edgar.

As has been the case for most of his career, Frankie Edgar will enter his next fight at UFC 240 as the betting underdog.

Edgar, the former UFC lightweight champion, will take on reigning featherweight king Max Holloway in the main event and, per sports betting website BestFightOdds.com, ‘The Answer’ is a massive +325 underdog. Holloway, who recently lost in an interim lightweight title bout to Dustin Poirier, has opened as the -475 favorite.

Edgar hasn’t fought since his unanimous decision win over Cub Swanson last year, and many feel the former champ isn’t quite deserving of another title shot at this late stage of his career. The 37-year-old is 3-2 in his last five fights in the Octagon, losing only to the divisional elite in Jose Aldo Brian Ortega.

Holloway, 27, hasn’t lost at featherweight since he dropped a unanimous decision to former champ-champ Conor McGregor at UFC Fight Night 26. That bout was in 2013, and ‘Blessed’ has since gone on to win thirteen-straight fights in the division.

UFC 240: Holloway vs. Edgar is expected to take place later this year, July 27 at Rogers Place in Alberta, Canada.
