Just like he did for their since-dissolved UFC 222 main event, featherweight champion Max Holloway opened as a sizable betting favorite for his Frankie Edgar showdown, which now takes place in the UFC 240 pay-per-view (PPV) headliner on July 27, 2019 inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

That’s according to our fiscal friends over at 5Dimes, which has “Blessed” as high as -475 against +325 for “The Answer.” Outside of his decision win over the unranked Cub Swanson, there hasn’t been much from Edgar to improve his betting line since getting iced by Brian Ortega.

Speaking of “T-City,” he’s also expected to compete at UFC 240 against once-beaten Russian sensation Zabit Magomedsharipov, who opened as the odds-on favorite at -175 to just +135 for the former featherweight title challenger. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but we could be looking at a potential Edgar-Ortega rematch at some point later this year, or even Holloway vs. Magomedsharipov depending on how things play out.

Unless matchmakers decide to stop ignoring Alexander Volkanovski.
