“But I just want you guys to know I’m feeling good and I know one thing: I’m still pushing forward.”

Holly Holm is taking her knockout loss to Amanda Nunes on the chin (no pun intended).

Holm, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, was knocked out with the same finishing sequence that she landed on Ronda Rousey to capture the bantamweight strap back in 2015, succumbing to a head kick and follow-up punches in the first round of the UFC 239 co-main event this past Saturday at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

Despite suffering the first knockout loss of her career, the former boxing champ seems to be in high spirits and is determined to push forward and spring back into the winners column in her next bout inside the Octagon.

“I always say I get to live the life of a dream. I never actually dreamed of getting kicked in the face, that’s never part of my dream,” Holm said in a recent Instagram story (h/t Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting). “That’s like on the nightmare part, living a little nightmare, wake up every morning like, ‘Yup, that’s real, that just happened.’

“But I just want you guys to know I’m feeling good and I know one thing: I’m still pushing forward.

“A lot of heartbreak right now, but I’m doing fine, I just want you guys to know I appreciate the love and support. And if you would like to have free lip filler, just get kicked in the face.”

The loss to Nunes marked Holm’s third defeat in her last five fights but ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ is still ranked in the UFC’s official top-three women’s bantamweight rankings and is considered one of the most skilled fighters in the division.
