After nearly a week of deception, Ronda Rousey’s surprise appearance blew everyone’s mind.

For the past several days, Ronda Rousey has been hard at work convincing the world that she was not appearing at the 2018 Royal Rumble, historic first 30-woman Rumble be damned. The reason? She was scheduled to be in South America filming the Mark Wahlberg action flick Mile 22.

TMZ caught her at the airport leaving. Her Instagram account started updating with photos of her on set in Columbia. She even popped up on the Instagrams of other Mile 22 cast and crew. It was all very convincing. Just a little too convincing, as far as some pro wrestling fans were concerned.

At the moment we have no idea if she flew back on a private jet or was never really in Bogota to begin with, but Ronda Rousey did indeed make her much anticipated WWE return after the women’s Royal Rumble. It was all a bit of a confusing moment. Asuka had just won the Rumble and was in the ring choosing whether she’d fight the Smackdown or RAW champion. All of a sudden, Joan Jett’s ‘Bad Reputation’ started playing – bah gawd, that’s Ronda Rousey’s music!

A smiling Ronda appeared in full Rowdy Roddy Piper gear and walked into the ring where after being rebuffed for a handshake from Asuka, she silently pointed at the WrestleMania sign hanging above the event. She then left the ring, walked to Stephanie McMahon, and offered another handshake. McMahon tentatively took Rousey’s hand, obviously worried for a redux of their WrestleMania moment. But Rousey simply shook it, smiled at the crowd again, and left the building.
