Boxing: Alvarez vs Golovkin 2

The legendary Gennady Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KOs) will look to continue his middleweight dominance later tonight (Sat., Oct. 5, 2019) live on DAZN from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, N.Y., when he meets Serhiy Derevianchenko (13-1, 10 KOs) in the main event of the evening for the vacant IBF and IBO middleweight straps.

Golovkin, who is making his second appearance on DAZN since signing an exclusive deal earlier this year, held the IBO middleweight title just one year ago. But after a loss to Canelo Alvarez in their highly-anticipated rematch last September, the man known as “GGG” ended up relinquishing all of his boxing gold. He’ll now have the chance to reclaim middleweight glory and prove that he’s still one of the best power punchers in the sport today.

Standing in his way is Ukrainian contender Derevianchenko, who has compiled a 13-1 record since turning pro back in 2014. The 33-year-old sharpshooter had an opportunity to capture the vacant IBF middleweight title one year ago, but a split-decision loss to veteran Daniel Jacobs left “The Technician” empty handed. Luckily, Derevianchenko will have another chance tonight against one of the most feared finishers in the sport.

Tonight’s middleweight title fight is absolutely worth watching— evident by the finishing rate of both fighters — so be sure to check below for the full fight card breakdown and viewing details:
