On Saturday, June 22nd in Tampa, FL, former world boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi engages in a grudge match against ex-UFC fighter Artem Lobov. This rivalry is really Malignaggi and Conor McGregor, who brought Paulie in famously for sparring to help him prep for Floyd Mayweather in 2017. The releasing of footage of Paulie appearing to get dropped during sparring is one of the reasons this rivalry has gotten so heated. Lobov is a good friend and teammate of McGregor, so Malignaggi wants to settle the score first by beating Artem, then seemingly fight Conor at some point.
So here we are… five, two-minute rounds will determine who gets bragging rights. It is a highly anticipated (or highly loathed, to some) showdown that will certainly be feisty and entertaining to watch.
