UFC welterweight attraction Nate Diaz is looking to make his Octagon return at some point in the very near future, but recently told his Twitter followers that he doesn’t have a UFC contract.

And it sounds like 170-pound contender Vicente Luque is to blame, which is exactly the kind of thing you would expect Diaz to say.

“I ain’t got a contract,” Diaz wrote. “It must be something wrong wit luque. I’m fight somebody. Ps I been said nicks the Goat.”

That passes for coherent English in Stockton.

“You know I’m in from day one!” Luque responded. “I’ve never backed up from a fight and I’m not gonna start now! We can do it when and where you want, I’m ready. I’ll raise my offer we can go as many rounds as you want and let’s make it an all stand up war, no take downs allowed!”

Luque (21-7-1) is the winner of four straight, with all four wins coming by way of knockout or submission. That elevated “The Silent Assassin” to No. 4 in the 170-pound rankings. Diaz (20-13) remains unranked after losing back-to-back fights to Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards.

Both Diaz and Luque are currently unbooked.
