Former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor insists he doesn’t want to make the same mistakes Chris Weidman made after “Notorious” snapped his leg against Dustin Poirier in the UFC 264 main event last July in Las Vegas.

But the DM-sliding Irishman already feels ready to kick.

“I feel like I could kick right now,” McGregor told Adam Glyn (transcribed by MMA Fighting). “I honestly feel like I could kick right now, but I’ve just got to listen to the doctors, listen to the people that are guiding me. That’s what I’ve done so far, I’ve committed myself to the work and I’m back on the feet. It’s so good to be back on the feet. You think a broken bone is gonna stop me? Think again.”

A broken bone won’t stop him … but MTV security will.

McGregor, 33, dropped three of his last four — all at lightweight — and won’t be medically cleared to compete until some point in late 2022. That said, “Notorious” may be several fights away from another 155-pound title shot, depending on how this plays out.

And this.
