Despite what some former champions may lead you to believe, the pros of being a title holder for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) definitely outweigh the cons. This Saturday night (Dec. 14, 2019), three of the best champions under the UFC umbrella will put their belts on the line at the massive UFC 245 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the main event of the promotion’s final PPV event of 2019, Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, will finally get his chance to settle his beef with former interim kingpin, Colby Covington. The two men have been battling it out on social media for well over a year now, and the time for talking (and typing) will come to an end in just a few days.

Usman is looking to score his first-ever title defense after winning the belt earlier this year (see it), while “Chaos” is looking to solidify himself as the best at 170 pounds after having his interim tag removed by the promotion.

In the co-headlining act, long-time Featherweight king, Max Holloway, is in search of his fourth straight title defense at 145 pounds, as well as his fifteenth straight win in the division when he faces top-ranked contender, Alexander Volkanvoski.

While Holloway hasn’t lost at 145 pounds in six years, Volkanovski is riding a 17-fight win streak that dates back to 2013, dominating all of his first seven UFC opponents, including Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.

Rounding out the trio of title fights is Amanda Nunes facing Germaine de Randamie in a rematch six years in the making. Nunes — the first and only female champ-champ for UFC — is looking for her seventh straight win in a title fight as she defends her Bantamweight strap.
