InjuryAn upcoming welterweight bout scheduled for the UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann vent on March 3rd has been put on hold while UFC matchmaker Joe Silva scrambles to find a replacement for an injured Mark Scanlon (7-1). The Brit had been scheduled to meet Matt Brown (11-10) on the un-aired preliminary card.

MMAjunkie.com reported Scanlon’s injury on Friday morning but did not elaborate on the nature of the fighters injury.

It would have been Scanlon’s second fight in the UFC after making his debut in November at UFC 122. The British fighter had been undefeated till he met Pascall Krauss at the German event, losing a split decision. On a positive note, both fighters earned the “Fight of the Night” bonus for their work.

Brown was given a reprieve as he’s already lost three straight in the UFC and is riding a 3-4 record with the promotion. Another loss will assuredly mean his dismissal from the promotion. In each of those three losses he was submitted in each fight, losing to Brian Foster at UFC 123, Chris Lytle at UFC 116, and to Ricardo Almeida at UFC 111.

UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann is scheduled for March 3rd at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky and is headlined by a welterweight bout between Diego Sanchez vs. Martin Kampmann.
