So the Internet has been in a tizzy these last few weeks because former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez, has been jumping around the wrestling ring like an old school luchador.

He’s 37. Big whoop.

Compare that to UFC Super Fight Champion Ken Shamrock, 55, who left earth at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view (PPV) event last night (Sun., Oct. 20, 2019) inside Odeum Expo Center in Chicago, Illinois.

While Shammy was able to stick the landing with the help of his opponent, former NFL stud Quinn “Moose” Ojinnaka, there are no guarantees about safety once people go airborne, so it takes a certain amount of fortitude to commit to such a risky maneuver.

Or a certain amount of money, which will go a long way in paying the bills over at Valor.

“Thank you to the fans for your support,” Shamrock wrote on Twitter. “I gave it my all tonight but it just wasn’t enough. I don’t know what comes next.”

UFC stars of past and present are no stranger to professional wrestling. Shamrock already had a successful run for WWE, while Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson pulled a small stint for TNA. Heck, even Tom Lawlor (and his diapers) are getting in on the action.
