Ronaldo Souza believes it will be either him or Vitor Belfort to fight for the middleweight title following their bout at UFC 198, on May 14.

Ronaldo Souza feels like he’s closer than ever to getting his title shot. All Jacare feels he needs to do is beat his next opponent, Vitor Belfort, at UFC 198, as he told Portal do Vale Tudo.

“It’s impossible that the winner of this fight doesn’t get a title shot next. It’s either me or Belfort.  There’s no debating, it’s a title shot and that’s it.”

Should he emerge victorious against “The Phenom”,  Souza says he would like to rematch Luke Rockhold because of his unanimous decision loss to him back in 2011, in Strikeforce. However, Jacare believes Chris Weidman will beat Rockhold at UFC 199.

“Rockhold showed superior skills in their first fight and that could have affected Weidman, psychologically. Or maybe not, it could have gotten him even angrier for the second fight. I believe it’s the latter. I think it will be a tough fight and Weidman will retrieve his belt, unfortunately.”

Ronaldo Souza meets Vitor Belfort in the co-main event of UFC 198, on May 14, in Curitiba, Brazil. The main event of the evening will be a heavyweight title fight between champion Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic.
